Ricoh WG-6 Overview The Ricoh WG-6 is an extremely compact camera designed to withstand all weather conditions.
It has a rugged physical design and useful shooting modes, making it a versatile option for photographers.
The camera’s durable construction makes it waterproof up to 65.6′, shockproof up to 6.6′ high, freezeproof, crushproof, dustproof, and resistant to chemical disinfection.
With a 20MP BSI CMOS sensor, the Ricoh WG-6 is capable of high-resolution stills shooting, a sensitivity range of ISO 125-6400, and UHD 4K30 video recording, as well as Movie SR+ and Movie SR stabilization modes to ensure stable video footage.
Its 5x optical zoom lens provides flexibility with a wide-angle to telephoto 28-140mm equivalent focal length range.
The WG-6 also has a bright 3.0″ 1.04m-dot AR-coated LCD monitor, an LED ring light for photographing close-up subjects, and a high-accuracy GPS module to embed location information within image files.
Ready For Any Weather With features that include uncompromising waterproofing that is good for two continuous hours of use at a depth of 20m shockproofing capable of withstanding drops of 2.1 m, freezeproofing * that ensures operation at temperatures of −10 °C, and crushproof capable of withstanding forces of 100 kg (kilogram-force), this rugged camera can be used in all conditions.
Dedicated Underwater Mode White balance is optimized to suppress blue tints for underwater photos with natural-looking colours.
Underwater Movie mode also applies this effect while filming high-resolution 4K movies.
Improved Overall Operability Designed for ease of use in the field, the WG-6 features a rugged aluminium-panel chassis, a simple mode selection that requires only rotating the mode dial, and an easy-to-operate vertically-oriented zoom button.
The spacious layout of the controls on the back of the camera lets you use them without removing your gloves.

Firmware Update 1.06 This firmware update allows the WG-6 to be used as a webcam by connecting it to a computer for Full HD streaming.
Plus, unlike in many traditional webcams, the wide-angle and telephoto functions of the camera can also be used.
Additionally, this update enables you to share fine details of small objects by combining the LED ring light of the camera with the macro shooting function, allowing images to be captured from as close as 0.4″ away.
Supported apps for this capability include Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco WebEx, and Facebook Messenger.
Also, to enable the camera to be used with a tripod with this added ability, the optional accessory extension adapter TE-2 is required.
